Alpha Teaching School Hub is proud to be working with Best Practice Network to deliver the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) to colleagues across Colchester, Ipswich, Tendring and Babergh.

​

The framework for NPQs have been updated and refreshed for February 2021 and draw from the very latest evidence and research into pedagogy, behaviour, curriculum and more.

​

To best address the broad range of responsibilities of current and aspiring middle leaders, three new specialist NPQs have been introduced which support alternate career development.

NPQ for Leading Teaching (NPQLT)

For those who are, or aspire to, lead teaching in a subject, year group, key stage or phase.

​

​NPQ for Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD)

For those who are, or aspire to, lead the development of other teachers.

 

NPQ for Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC)

For those who are, or aspire to, lead behaviour and culture and/or pupil well-being.

​

NPQ for Leading Literacy (NPQLL)D)
For those who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading literacy across a school, year group, key stage or phase.
 

NPQ for Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL) 

For leaders qualified to at least Level 3 with a full and relevant qualification who are, or are aspiring to be:

  • managers of Private, Voluntary and Independent nurseries

  • headteachers of school-based or maintained nurseries

  • childminders with leadership responsibilities

NPQ for Senior Leadership (NPQSL)

For those who are, or aspire to be, senior leaders leading across a school.

 

NPQ for Headship (NPQH)

For those who are, or aspire to be, headteachers leading across a whole school.

 

NPQ for Executive Leadership (NPQEL)

For those who are, or aspire to be, executive leaders with responsibility across more than one school.
